Associate Plumbing Engineer

We are seeking an Engineer to join the Plumbing Design Team in our San Francisco office. We are looking for a hard-working, highly motivated individual who is passionate about the built environment and collaboration. We value work ethic, personal drive and strong written and verbal communication skills. Our firm is a leading MEP design firm working on world class design projects in the architectural engineering consulting industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for buildings, water resources, and continued learning. In addition, candidates shall be able to work with junior staff to help develop their skills and provide guidance. We are looking for a technically proficient engineer with leadership qualities and deep experience on projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and engineering related to the design and construction of highly sustainable, high performance innovative, and iconic buildings.
The career path for this position would be to eventually co-lead our plumbing group, with staff mentoring, standards development, hiring, performance reviews, and of course leading the plumbing/fire protection design for large to medium sized projects in the Bay Area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Conceptualize plumbing systems and communicate design options to stakeholders
+ Develop high quality plumbing system construction documents
+ Prepare plumbing technical specifications
+ Complete projects profitably and on schedule
+ Develop new client relationships
+ Present to clients, staff and at industry events
+ Provide mentorship, training and development for staff
+ Maintain project quality control
Key Competencies & Skills:
+ Inspire and motivate staff
+ Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
+ Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit
+ Engineering calculations
+ Bachelor' s Degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
+ 7+ Years' plumbing design experience with project emphasis on labs, office buildings, campus universities, and government
+ Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred but not required
+ CPD certification preferred
+ LEED Accreditation preferred
