About the Firm

This full-time Autocad Drafter position for an established and respected lighting design firm will report directly to the Principal. The firm works on premier residential and commercial projects all over the Bay Area and beyond, and has a reputation for outstanding design, service and attention to detail.

The office culture is casual yet professional and very team-oriented. The office is located in Marin County with easy on/off access to Hwy. 101.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Save architectural drawings on company server and create new AutoCAD backgrounds for Associates and Principal to start lighting layout
  • Learn company AutoCAD symbols on lighting plan legend to be able to draft red-lined lighting layout
  • Draft red-lined lighting layout to create and maintain lighting plans
  • Draft on-going revisions to lighting layout
  • Manage multiple .dwg files on each project in company database
  • Calculate square footage on buildings in AutoCAD drawing when not provided by Architect
  • Keep accurate time log of all work performed on online timesheet
  • Take direction from Principal, Associate Designers and Senior Draftsman on daily AutoCAD tasks and priorities
  • Download/upload .dwg files from private servers for company use
  • Set up project specific .dwg floor plan layout per Architect formatting and associated x-refs
  • Set up project specific title block layout and add text details

 

Skills:
  • Verifiable drafting experience using AutoCAD 2015, 2016, 2017 or 2018
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Excel related to .dwg implementation
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to articulate status of workload and to send out or request dwg files
  • Ability to multi-task by keeping up with ongoing parallel projects
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Work well individually and as a team member
  • Manage personal time effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to track personal work time in detail
