Description

As an Outside Sales Engineer, you will be working with a dedicated team of HVAC professionals for the Mechanical Engineering and Construction Industry. This technical sales role focuses on applied and/or custom mechanical equipment; air handling units, chillers, heat pumps, hydronic boilers, VRF, lab fans, lab controls, air purification, humidification, and dehumidification for demanding applications. 

 

Responsibilities:

•  Create and maintain relationships within customer accounts; consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, controls contractors, owners, developers

•  Work closely with inside sales to prepare engineering selections, budgets and formal proposals to satisfy customer requests

•  Track those opportunities in company ERP/CRM and update with progress

•  Work closely with Vendors to get support for engineering data, pricing, special features or options to satisfy project requirements

•  Negotiate and ultimately secure projects by getting signed purchase orders

•  Provide design and systems application support to customers

•  Manage job projects to ensure success and profitability

 

Required Qualifications:

•  Degree in Mechanical Engineering or college degree with appropriate industry experience

•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•  Excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation

•  Excellent organizational skills

•  Strong aptitude for learning and understanding mechanical systems

•  Ability to be a team player

 

Preferred Qualifications

•  3+ years customer-facing experience in sales, sales engineering, or related function

•  2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office

•  2+ years of experience with CRM system

•  B-to-B Sales experience, especially with multiple decision makers

•  Experience in HVAC industry a plus
