Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Project management and staff mentoring responsibilities
• Business development including obtaining and fostering client relationships and negotiating new project work
• Assist through all phases of civil design projects, including, but not limited to, grading, storm drain design, site layout, correspondence with agencies, plan checkers, contractors, and clients
• Work with in-house team (architects, surveyors, and planners) in preparation of plan documents
• Interpret and apply appropriate codes and regulations
• Research proposed construction techniques, materials, products, and details
• Prepare engineering reports and construction (working) drawings, details and documents including SWPPP
• Prepare erosion control plans and documents
• Quality Assurance/Quality Control
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Current California Professional Civil Engineering license
• A minimum of 8 years design experience in the preparation of civil design plans, details, and specifications for commercial, multifamily and/or municipal facilities, including street improvements, utilities, and site grading
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience signing and stamping engineering documents
• A minimum of 2 years Project Management overseeing projects from beginning to end
• Currently designing and proficient in Civil 3D
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word
• Excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and strong attention to detail
• Ability to provide details on a minimum of 3 design projects that you have worked on that have been constructed
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License and clean DMV
Preferred qualifications:
• California P.E. license prior to 2018
• Current Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD)
• 2 years Project Management experience
• Experience in bidding and putting proposals and contracts together
• Prior experience managing multiple people at one time
• Knowledge of Local Codes
• Structural knowledge
• Mapping / surveying knowledge
